In the article entitled "2009 Legal Elite" contained in the December 2009 issue of Virginia Business magazine, two of the Firm’s lawyers were again selected by their peers as being among the best lawyers in their respective fields within the Commonwealth of Virginia. Thousands of lawyers in Virginia were polled by Virginia Business magazine in cooperation with The Virginia Bar Association asking them to nominate fellow lawyers whom they considered to be the best in 14 practice areas.

Fred J. Bernhardt, Jr. has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the Westminster Canterbury Foundation. Westminster Canterbury is an ecumenical, faith-based, non-profit, continuing care retirement community located in Richmond, Virginia.

Cary A. Ralston has been appointed to the Clients’ Protection Fund Board of the Virginia State Bar as a member representing the Third Disciplinary District. The Board reviews, investigates and rules on petitions for compensation arising out of dishonest conduct by a lawyer who is a member of the Virginia State Bar.
