As a Partner, Ms. Novak will continue to represent clients in all aspects of Family Law, Department of Health Professionals, and other Litigation matters.
Ms. Novak has been selected by her peers as a “Legal Elite,” Young Lawyer (Under 40), every year from 2019 to 2024 in Virginia Business magazine. She was also named a Super Lawyer, Civil Litigation, Defense Rising Star in 2024. No more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in Richmond, VA are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.
Prior to joining FloranceGordonBrown, Ms. Novak served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Judge Edward A. Robbins, Jr., for the 12th Judicial Circuit Court of Virginia, Chesterfield County, Virginia.
Ms. Novak successfully argued to the Virginia Supreme Court in the case of Carol Renee Edwards v. Omni International Services, Inc., 301 Va. 125 (2022), which involved misnomer. In that case, a plaintiff non-suited their initial complaint but refiled it shortly thereafter arguing misnomer. Ms. Novak prevailed in her argument that the new complaint did not relate back to the initial complaint which resulted in a ruling for the defendant.
Ms. Novak graduated cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law, where she served as the Symposium and Survey Editor of the Journal of Law and Technology, and was the 2017 Commencement Speaker. While in law school, Ms. Novak was admitted to the Order of Barristers, “a national honorary organization whose purpose is the encouragement of oral advocacy and brief writing skills through effective law school oral advocacy programs”. She was graduated from the College of William and Mary.
